Expect to pay over $100 when dining here and to prevent any rude awakening. It's not a fancy looking restaurant to be honest, but the food options are simple yet good. I wouldn't say it has the best zichar dishes but it serves definitely one of the best black pepper crabs in Singapore, at a cost. We love the black pepper sauce which you probably can only find the taste here. The owner is probably very confident of his chef's crab cooking skills hence they could afford to charge crabs at $75/kg knowing that patrons would still be willing to pay. Giving credit to the crab chef, this guy really knows his stuff because peeling the shell out of the crab, the flesh falls out nicely and in whole, meaning the crab meat is extremely succulent, fat and juicy and dipping this with their really good black pepper sauce is truly an indulgence.
Was here on Sunday evening, it's not as crowded as expected. So the food is served fast and piping hot… Really the best crab around here!
The crab is fresh and the rest of the dishes are nicely flavoured. The coffee shop is spacious and staff are friendly.
A great place with good atmosphere and crab! Despite the looks, don’t think this place is cheap! Crab is pricey but delicious!
Best black pepper crab in sg!Bad thing is eating black pepper crab everywhere else now seems to be a shadow of this.
Great place to enjoy black pepper place.A bit expensive but worth it.
Been there many times , pepper crab best but only dine in have quality crab , takeaway crab no quality..
Best to call them first before heading down in case the crabs already sold out. Pricing wise is just fair, don't expect cheap. Serving of food was quite fast. Personally I felt the black pepper crab taste better than the chilli crab.
The staff is friendly and to be fair, they did mention that we must finish our meal by 855pm, so best is to reach early as i booked to go at 730pm. The staff is very friendly and helpful. So thumbs up. One down side is it's not really very cheap. Ok only for pricing....
Dubbed the best pepper crab in Singapore. It is indeed very good and not to miss the other wonderful items like mee goreng and fried fritters. Place is a little old but otherwise clean.
This restaurant is my favorite one. This is the hidden spot that is famous to local people.
Love the food. Only wanted the Peppery crab and the mee goreng honestly (did not disappoint) but since brought foreigners along, let them try other kinds.
Pepper Crab is a must to try. The pepper sauce is thick and wonderful. Be sure to drink lots of water! Mee goreng is good too.
Great pepper crab. Locals go here
Black pepper crabs! They are the best and finger licking good! Never disappointed and always wanting more. I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Customer service is average
We came here through Mark Wiens. Because we wanted to have the best experience. We love black pepper crab chili crab. The black pepper crab we orderd cost 75 Singapore dollar per KG. The tast was not what we have aspect. Maybe or tast is differant.
Never felt so cheated. They gave us crabs with huge shells and tiny claws. Obviously these are not from the same crab. They probably just cook their crabs en masse and then distribute to customers. Still dare to charge premium prices of $160. Tried to complain but got told off. Horrible customer service. Never coming back again.
Great place for their crabs esp black pepper crab. Packed on weekends
The black pepper crab is definitely worth the hype since the 2000s. However, for the price for the crab at 1kg per kilo. Trying it once would be sufficient. As for the other dishes prices are quite standard.
there are other stalls open here in the afternoon too! The wonton noodles are great. However it is served with cabbage instead of the traditional oyster sauce vegetables, which was weird because in the past when I went there they didn't serve it with cabbage.
Don't be deceived by its run down appearance, just went this morning for its wan ton noodles; big serving, delicious compared to others, highly recommended. Another will be the famous chili crabs, I don't know what happened but used to see long line before waiting for table, went once at 4pm to secured a table for 6pm can you believe that? Price is not cheap plus no credit cards
My all time favorite place for black pepper crab. They have raised the prices over the year, and it is not cheap now. Still, if you would like something that is consistently good, this is one of the places you can go
Can't wait and don't miss out!!!
One of best black pepper crabs in Singapore. However, the service staff have a really bad attitude. They wouldn't hesitate to take your order (money) but would surely chase you out minutes before the official closing time. Please note the opening hours and give yourself sufficient time if eating in.
The Black Pepper Crab is definitely FIRST GRADE. Probably one of the best things I've eaten during my trip to Singapore. And it helps that the location is not so central so you really have to walk from Eunos MRT or take a cab to get here. It's in the middle of a very residential district which just adds to the charm of the open-air eatery.I've always found Singaporean food relatively cheap given the quality and cleanliness of anywhere you can get food. I expected this to be more expensive since it was highly rated and crab always fetches a high price but we ordered the Mee Goreng and the one of the bigger crab portions and it only ended up costing roughly SGD83-88 which is a fair deal given the crab was super meaty and noodles extremely tasty. Best time to go was the time we went which was around 3PM so there were only 2 groups eating there. Service was great and the overall experience was unforgettable. Will definitely eat here again when we get to return to Singapore.
Black pepper crab tastes very good. Make sure you arrive before 8pm or they will hurry you up to finish fast. Staff wants to leave before 9pm. I also had problems with my stomach after the food. Felt like something not fully clean.
No menu, don't know what to order or how much, very fast service but not so friendly. Food is not bad. It's actually 3.5 not 4 but I can't do half rating here.
Hands down the best black pepper crab. Restaurant closes early - last order about 8.30pm and tends runs out of crabs. Go early to avoid disappointment.
Fantastic black pepper crab!! Extremely delicious and reasonable price. Hesitate no more, you should come here if you are finding a place to try Singapore black pepper crab. I will definitely go back.
Ratings given 5 star only for the black pepper crab
Very good!! Come if you are nearby or on the way to the airport. Their crabs are really fresh. Shrimps are so good. It's a local style where you will not experience from other chain restaurants.
Best place for black pepper crab. Normally it is packed and the aunty can be quite grumpy. Best to order takeaway.
My number one SG choice for black pepper crab and wet bee hoon. Fragrant and strong black pepper smell that will satisfy your palate. 1st come 1st serve with available table.
<ö+ TasteMarked Reviews +ø>Their pepper crabs are still the best among the rest! This place is our to go to place when we crave for pepper crabs! 😊A very typical hawker with no air-con and old tables and chairs. I think since they charge so much higher than before... they need improvements in their shop. The dishes came after 10 mins wait. We went there around 6:30PM and the space packed but no line. We ordered:2 pcs black pepper crab- 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼veggie - 👍🏻👍🏻Environment:3/5Waiting: 4/5Taste: 4/5Price: 4/5 (a bit pricey than before)Service: 4/5 What I liked:- i love black pepper crab! What I disliked:- nothing in particular
This place is famous for their crabs, be it chili or black pepper.2 time here for dinner. Their crabs is usually sold out early. Just happened they ran out of rice. Order their fried beehoon and Mee Goreng and a few more dishes. Food was severed promptly. The Mee Goreng was pretty good, suits those that can take spicy food. Prawn paste chicken was great as well.
Great black pepper crab but sbut pricy
We actually and purposely return to Singapore to have both the chilli and pepper crabs. No way any chef in Australia can fry it so nicely. Absolutely amazing and highly recommendable.
Best black pepper in singapore. Food is great but dont expect any table service. Sometimes the person who take the order could be quite fierce. Limited dishes as they focus on black pepper crab.
The crab here was amazing! We had both the black pepper crab and the chili crab and everyone loved both. We also had a bunch of other dishes, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the calamari! As others said, the service could have been a little better, but that adds to the charm of the place.
Best black pepper crabs ever. Freshness and special black pepper sauce. Try their seafood beehoon, customised youtiao with fillings.
Sadly, the standard here has dropped drastically. We got hor fun ($10 for medium), chili crab and black pepper crab ($182) in total. While the quality of the crab meat was superb, the preparation leaves much to be desired. My pincer was COVERED in icky clumps of barnacles and grime. They were generous with the eggs in the chili sauce, but the overall flavor was too spicy and had a fishy undertone. Black pepper crab sauce is still one of the best around, albeit the flavor burst was each bite was marred by the crunchy grains of sand within...Hor fun noodles came with strong “wok hei” taste, but “zhap” was a little bland.
Great pepper crab. No frills but just delicious. Would go back anytime.
Went there because there were lots of positive reviews online. To my disappointment, it was way overpriced and we doubted whether we were charged correctly. We ordered two medium sized crabs and ended up paying 148 Singapore dollars. The lady didn't show us the scale and there was no information as to how much the crabs weighed. The crabs tasted not bad but not great. I don't think it worth going if it is a rip-off. With that price, you can get a decent crab meal downtown. If you really want to go, make sure you pick you own crabs and carefully watch the scale. That is my advice.
Excellent pepper crab (their famous dish)! Their crabs are big and has a lot of meat to eat, the taste is unbelievable, delicious and you can eat a lot and won't get bored/ diminishing returns. They are cheap when you compare with big pepper crab brands. Their other dishes are decent too but I would recommend just order a little as the cream is the main dish.
Crabs are good with long waiting time.Servers are polite enough.Overall it works for me.Will patronise again.
Amazing crab restaurant. Still great taste of food since 20 years back. I miss this food to back again. Don't miss out!!!
Reasonable pricing. Will definitely visit again (:Best black pepper crab!
The black pepper crabs is the best. It is fresh and juicy, the meat is tender and slides off easily from the shell. And it is a must order. However this place is closing end of April. Other notable dishes are salad you tiao, and definitely the malay fried noodles.
That days I order two crabs there said 3.8kg. But when I reach home open the crab look like less then 2kg both.. 😵
